Cercospora leaf spot happens on Indian crapemyrtle and its hybrids, and starts as round brown spots about ¼ inch across on the leaf surface. Over time, the leaves may distort or twist. The spots eventually enlarge, turning leave bright red or yellow, then causing them to fall off.
Cercospora Leaf spot will cause yellowing and dropping of the leaves. This fungal disease disease is normally caused by too much moisture in the soil and or on the foliage by too much irrigation or rain.
I would first check the soil moisture content.
Dig down 8 inches or so and feel the soil. It will not kill your crepe myrtle. It will not affect its blooming next year. The leaves that fall were going to drop in a month or so anyway. The only consequence for you is if they fall on a porch, deck, walk, or patio below, forcing you to blow or sweep them off every couple of days to keep from tracking them into the house.
